Zoom Security Resources From AHS Deans

Good Afternoon Arleta Staff,

I hope everyone had a restful and great weekend.

We would like to thank all the teachers that reported incidents of inappropriate behavior, chats and postings taking place in their zoom sessions last week.  In light of these incidents, we have learned that when reporting an incident that has taken place during your Zoom session, it would also be helpful to submit a Zoom Meeting Participant Report.   This report allows us to view all the students that logged into your session and the email they used to log in.  The video "Zoom: Authenticated Users Setting and Report" below has the step-by-step instructions that will help you create this report.

In most of the incidents we have dealt with we have discovered that several uninvited guests have managed to enter the Zoom sessions using a non-LAUSD email.  In an attempt to prevent this from happening we are asking if you could please review your Zoom security settings and make the appropriate adjustments to prevent uninvited guest from entering your classes.

Below you will find two videos and a document with step-by-step visuals that may help you with this process. If you may need additional help, please feel free to reach out to us.  We would be glad to assist you.

1)      This video will show you how to set security settings in Zoom and also shows how to access a Zoom Meeting Participant Report:

2)      This video will demonstrate how to set security settings while you are zooming with your students:

Once again, thank you for all you do to help our Mustangs succeed!

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.

Sincerely,
