Arleta High School has built a strong Advisory program to help ensure that all students receive the support needed to succeed throughout their high school years and beyond.

The Advisory program:
• develops a personal connection between the student and teacher in order to support greater academic success.
• provides the necessary tools to become self-directed learners, effective communicators, community contributors, and critical thinkers.
• allows the students the opportunity to learn life skills needed in post-secondary education and in the world.
• teaches students to develop their Graduation Portfolio.

Graduation Portfolio
In order to pass Advisory and ultimately participate in Arleta High School’s graduation, every student must complete and defend a Graduation Portfolio. Students are required to complete eight artifacts and eight typed artifact reflection sheets each school year that demonstrate the student’s growth in the four learning results: community contributor, critical thinker, effective communicator and self-directed learner, plus key milestones from the Naviance Family Connection program.
