The AP Statistics curriculum reflects the following points: 1. Emphasize the elements of statistical thinking including the need for data , the importance of data production, and measuring and modeling variablitiy 2. More data and concepts 3. Foster active learning The curriculum is grouped into four main topics: 1. Exploring data: observing patterns and departures from patterns 2. Planning a study: deciding what and how to measure 3.Anticipating patterns: producing models using probability theory and simulation 4. Statistical inference: confirming models The study of statistics blends rigor, calculations, and deductive thinking of mathematics, the real-world examples and problems of the social sciences, the decision-making needs of business and medicine, and the laboratory methods and experimental procedures of the natural sciences.

Create a 7 number data set. You can use random number generator, select a particular set, but it can not consist of a single value.
Find the mean, standard deviation, median, and the IQR of your data.
Record the set and these summary statistics.
Add 3 to each value of your set. Again find and record the mean, Sx, median, and IQR.
Add 7 to the values of your original set. Again document the summary statistics.
Multiply your original data by 2, find summary statistics, and multiple the origianl list by 5 and record the summary statistics.
What, if anything, can you conclude? Write conclusion with Jane Schaffer.
