Awards from Project ARTvertise (Reported By Ms. Galvan, 02/19/2019)

            "Pacoima Beautiful" and "PacartsIncubator" hosted “project ARTvertise" along with OUTFRONT/JCDecaux (owners of the bus stop shelters), in an effort to advertise local artists at the bus shelters, which would hopefully change the way we view and interact with our urban spaces, with artwork from the community

         The two Arleta student artists, Diana Crespo and Jesus Lua, submitted their art work to David Avalos, an Arleta High School alumnus, who was the overseer for the event. Out of about 100 submissions, those two students' artwork pieces were 2 of the 36 chosen to be displayed along Van Nuys Blvd from Laurel Canyon to Glenoaks Blvd. Diana Crespo’s art is displayed at the intersection of Telfair Ave. and Van Nuys Blvd, and Jesus Lua’s art is displayed at the intersection of Bradley Ave and Van Nuys Blvd. Each artist received a Certificate of Recognition from the California Senate and a Certificate of Appreciation from the City of Los Angeles. Congratulations to our mustangs, Diana and Jesus, on your great accomplishments!
