Revised 2022-23 Instructional Calendar

Dear Los Angeles Unified families,

This is an update regarding the 2022-23 school year. The Los Angeles Unified Board of Education recently approved a revised Instructional Calendar for the 2022-23 school year. 

Please note that Wednesday, Oct. 19 is now a required school day for students and school personnel. 

Additional required school days are Wednesday, Dec. 7, Wednesday, March 15 and Wednesday, April 19.

A second update made to the calendar includes the 2022-23 school year ending on June 9, 2023. 

Winter Recess remains scheduled for Dec. 19, 2022 through Jan. 6, 2023, and the second semester will still begin on Jan. 9, 2023. Please visit achieve.lausd.net/calendar for more information. 

The revised calendar will continue to include the optional Acceleration Days, which will offer additional academic support and enrichment opportunities. The first two Acceleration Days will be held at the start of winter break on Dec. 19-20, 2022. The remaining Acceleration Days will be offered at the start of spring break on April 3-4, 2023. 

Acceleration Days are designed to help address learning loss associated with the pandemic. Face-to-face instruction is a critical element of student success. For more information on Acceleration Days, please visitachieve.lausd.net/accelerationdays. We will also share more information about our school community’s offerings closer to the end of the semester.
