Extra Credit: Sketchbook pages for Intro to Art and Painting classes


Description:

Drawing often is a good practice for developing your art practice!  Once a week, you may submit a photograph of a 2 PAGE SPREAD from your own sketchbook to receive 10 extra credit points.   Please email your sketchbook photos to s.lopeztakahashi@lausd.net (watch the spelling!)  And include your first and last name and period in the email.


Week 1 and 2 : Submit your photos starting August 16th (you may submit twice this week!)

Week 3: Submit your photo starting August 22nd

Week 4: Submit your photo starting August 29th

Week 5: Submit your photo starting September 5th

Week 6: Submit your photo starting Spetemeber 12th

Week 7: Submit your photo starting September 19th

Week 8: Submit your photo starting September 26th

Week 9: Submit your photo starting October 3rd

Week 10: Submit your photo starting October 10th. Make sure your photos are submitted by the end of the Mester 1 grading period!

Students will use blocked or bubble lettering to draw their names, with each letter including a pattern or imagery that represents something about the student's personality.
 
Completed assignments will have:
  • The students name drawn in blocked or bubble lettering
  • Each letter has patterns and/ or imagery that is somehow representative of the student (inside the letter or behind the letter is up to the student)
  • Drawing will be fully colored
  • Entire artwork should be large and take up most of the portfolio (12"x18")

Los estudiantes podrán crear un portafolio grande que se usará para almacenar obras de arte durante las próximas 10 semanas.

Los estudiantes usarán letras bloqueadas o de burbujas para dibujar sus nombres, y cada letra incluye un patrón o imágenes que representan algo sobre la personalidad del estudiante.

Las tareas completadas tendrán:
  • El nombre de los estudiantes dibujado en letras bloqueadas o de burbujas.
  • Cada letra tiene patrones y/o imágenes que de alguna manera representan al estudiante (dentro de la letra o detrás de la letra depende del estudiante)
  • El dibujo será completamente coloreado.
  • Toda la obra de arte debe ser grande y ocupar la mayor parte del portafolio (12"x18")

Vocabulario
Pattern: un diseño en el que se repiten líneas, figuras, colores o formas.
Imagery: imágenes o dibujos que representan un sentimiento, una idea u otra cosa.
